Tänään pidettiin ORC:n syksyn ensimmäinen hallituksen kokous etänä. Uusia jäseniä ei liittynyt, joka on ymmärrettävää, kun peli-iltoja ei ole voitu pitää. HUB ei ole käytettävissä, joten joudumme siirtämään peli-illat jäsenien kotiin sekä AYY:n varattaviin tiloihin. Ensimmäinen varaus tehtiin heti huomiselle! Ilmoitamme tulevista kerroista tänne. Fuksisauna on varattu 2.10, jonne mahtuu 25 hlö, joista varataan 15-20 paikka fukseille. Pelileiriä kaavailtiin 13.-15.11. Hallitus päätti, että tapahtumissa olisi maskipakko, jotta voidaan pitää usein turvallisia peli-iltoja. Tapahtumiin tehdään ilmoituslista, jotta pysytään tilojen rajoissa ja mahdollisia tartuntaketjuja voidaan selvittää.

Budjetti meni uusiksi, koska lähes kaikki varaukset jouduttiin perumaan (rahaa säästyy) eikä fukseille ole voitu markkinoida (ei uusia jäsenmaksuja).

Etäpeli-illat arveluttivat, koska ORC omistaa pelinsä fyysisenä ja lautapeleihin kuuluu sosiaalinen yhdessäolo ja osien hypistely.  Tanssiaisten kohtalosta ei ollut yhteisymmärrystä koronarajoitteiden vuoksi ja sitä pohditaan seuraavassa kokouksessa 9.10. Bofferointia voidaan sen sijaan pitää ulkotiloissa ja miekaniskulla pidetään turvavälit kunnossa, joten sitä kaavaillaan.

Hankintoina suunniteltiin MtG Jumpstartia, josta saisi kivat valmispakat kaiken tasoisille pelaajille. Ropemiittiä suunniteltiin, jossa siitä kiinnostuneet voisivat luoda ryhmiä.  Muuta uutta olisivat peli-illoista ja tapahtumista pienten blogipostausten teko, jotta saadaan eloa sivustoille.

Kaikki ovat huomanneet, että botteja on ollut paljon TG-ryhmässä. Koitamme lisätä rajoituksia, jotta näin ei kävisi. Toinen vaihtoehto on siirtyä Discordiin ja aloittaa puhtaalta pöydältä.

Hello all orcs!

Today we held ORC’s first remote board meeting in autumn. We got no new members which is understandable considering we haven’t had any game nights. HUB is out of order, so we must transfer game nights to members’ homes and AYY’s reservable spaces. The first game night is held tomorrow! We will inform about the future ones. Freshman sauna game night is reserved for 2.10 which can have 25 people, of which 15-20 will be reserved for freshmen. Game camp is scheduled for 13.-15.11. The board decided that all events require the attendants to wear face masks to ensure safe and regular game nights. The events will have list of attendants so that we can keep within the corona restrictions and track possible infection chains.

The budget went upside down. Almost every reservation made in early 2020 had to be cancelled (money saved) and we haven’t been able to market our club to the freshmen (no new membership revenue).

Remote game nights aren’t our top priority because ORC owns physical games and boardgames are about being together and interacting with the physical components. The ORC ball’s destiny wasn’t decided due to corona restrictions, moving the decision about it to the next meeting on 9.10. Instead, boffering can be done outside and everyone can keep their partner at a sword’s distance. Hence, we’re looking into getting it on.

We thought about investing into MtG cards for ORC that new and old players can enjoy. An upcoming set, Jumpstart, allows for easy pick-up games with tons of variety due to its mix and mash design. We also thought about having a meeting for people interested in roleplaying. Something new would also be small blog posts about events and game nights to add some content to our website and TG-channel.

Everyone has noticed there’s been an influx of bots on our TG-channel. We’re looking into restricting the access to the channel to counteract that. On the other hand, we could migrate to Discord and start fresh if Telegram is too easily exploitable.
